Find it first. Then skip the jackhammer.
Houston’s clay soil moves, and the water lines under your slab move with it. Most slab leaks can be fixed without breaking up a single tile.
How detection works.
- 01
Confirm there’s a leak
We shut every fixture and watch the meter. If the leak indicator spins, water is going somewhere it shouldn’t.
- 02
Split hot from cold
A pressure test on each side tells us which line is leaking, which tells us half of where it is.
- 03
Listen for it
An acoustic listening device on the floor hears water hissing out under the concrete. We mark the spot.
- 04
Choose the repair
Reroute through the attic or walls, tunnel from outside, or a spot repair through the floor. You get all three prices.
What it costs.
Why we usually reroute
Breaking the slab means moving furniture, cutting through tile or wood, a dusty week and a flooring bill on top of the plumbing bill. A reroute abandons the leaking line where it is and runs a new one overhead. It’s faster, cleaner and usually cheaper.
We break the slab only when a reroute isn’t possible, usually a drain line rather than a water line. Drains leak too, but they’re found with a camera and a different test, and we’ll explain that one on site.
Your insurance
Many Texas homeowner policies cover the cost of getting to a leak and the water damage, but not the pipe itself. Read your policy or call your agent before the repair starts. We give you photos, the detection report and an itemized invoice that separates access from repair, which is what adjusters ask for.
Asked about slab leaks.
How do I know if I have a slab leak?
Warm spots on the floor, the sound of running water with everything off, a water meter that keeps moving, or a bill that jumped for no reason are the usual signs.
How much does slab leak detection cost in Houston?
Six-Ten charges $395 flat for detection: a meter test, pressure test and acoustic locate, with the spot marked on your floor.
Will insurance pay for a slab leak?
It depends on your policy. Many cover access and water damage but not the pipe. We provide photos and an itemized invoice that separates the two.
Meter spinning? We’ll find it.
Detection is $395 flat and most leaks are found the same visit.
