Since 1979
A shop by the water.
Walt Ingraham opened Casco in 1979 in a former sail loft off Commercial Street. We’ve kept the shop, and the habit of fixing what can be fixed.
Casco / Since 1979
The salvage yard
Behind the shop are pallets of old slate saved from roofs we’ve stripped over forty-five years, sorted by quarry color and size. It’s why a repair on your 1890 roof can use slate that matches.
Why the coast
Salt air, nor’easters and freeze-thaw cycles are hard on roofs. The old builders here chose slate, copper and cedar because they hold up. Our job is mostly keeping their choices working.
Come by the shop, or have us come to you.
