A contingency agreement signed before your adjuster visits can lock you into a roofer you haven’t vetted.
No registration number
Oklahoma roofers must register with the Construction Industries Board and show their number on ads and contracts.
How to check any roofer
- Ask for their Oklahoma roofing registration number. It should already be on the truck and the paperwork.
- Look it up at cibverify.ok.gov, or call the Construction Industries Board at (405) 521-6550.
- Ask for a local address you could drive to, and how long they’ve been there.
- Ask who honors the workmanship warranty in five years.
If you already signed
Under the FTC’s Cooling-Off Rule, many contracts signed at your home can be canceled within three business days, in writing. Read what you signed, and if you’re unsure, talk to the Oklahoma Attorney General’s consumer protection unit.
