Two coats, after the real work.
Paint is the last ten percent of an exterior job. The rest is scraping, sanding, repairing rotten wood and caulking, and in Charleston’s humidity, that’s the part that decides how long it lasts.
Exterior prices.
Why two coats
A single coat of even the best exterior paint is thin enough to fail early in coastal sun and salt. Two coats build enough film to protect the wood and even out the color. Every Haint Blue exterior gets two, and the estimate says so.
When we stop and call you
If we find rot under the old paint, we stop, photograph it, and give you a price to repair it before we paint over it. Caulking over rot hides it for a season and makes it worse.
