If it was built before 1978, we treat it like it has lead.
Most Charleston houses were. Federal rules require any paid contractor disturbing paint in a pre-1978 home to be an EPA-certified firm using lead-safe work practices. We are, and we don’t cut that corner when nobody’s watching.
- Plastic sheeting under every wall we scrape, sealed at the edges
- Wet scraping and HEPA-vacuum sanders, never open-flame burning or dry power sanding
- Work areas closed off, cleaned with HEPA vacuums and wet wipes daily
- A cleaning verification at the end, documented and given to you
