About · since 1994
Thirty years on Charleston ladders.
DeShawn Gadsden’s father started painting houses on the peninsula in 1994. DeShawn runs the company now, with most of the same rules.
Haint Blue / The company
The rules
- Prep is the job. Paint is the finish.
- Name the product on the estimate.
- Lead-safe on every old house, watched or not.
- Clean up every day like the owner is home, because they usually are.
Why we stay small
Fourteen painters is enough to keep three crews busy and a Gadsden on every job site. It’s not enough to need a sales team, which is why the person who gives you the estimate is the person who runs your job.

A Yeti Trades Co. portfolio site
The painting contractor’s site, built in seven days.
Sixteen pages: a Charleston color library, lead-safe practices for pre-1978 houses, the city’s BAR color-change process, and prep written so a homeowner can compare three bids.
